Vegan Chocolate Avocado Mousse Tart- Sugar and Gluten Free

I won’t lie when I say this is the quickest, easiest party-friendly recipe. It’s gluten-free, sugar-free, lactose-free, vegan and paleo, and takes less than 10 minutes to make. Luckily, I have not yet heard a negative comment about it either, other than people “not being able to resist” and “wanting more”. Give it a go and let me know how it works for you!


For the base:

1 Cup Almonds

1 Cup Pitted Dates

1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

2 Tbsp Maple Syrup

For The Mousse:

2 Medium Avocados

1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

1 Tbsp Almond Milk

50g Cocoa Powder (you can play with this amount to make it more or less intense, I love rich chocolate, so I tend to add more)

2 Tbsp Maple Syrup

Optional Toppings:

1/2 Cup Coconut Cream whisked with 0.5 tsp vanilla and 2 packets stevia

Fruit Topping

Vanilla Icecream

Whipped Cream


  1. In a food processor, blend together crust ingredients until mixed into a dough-like texture (it does not have to be completely smooth)
  2. Press the crust mixture down into a non-stick pie pan
  3. In a food processor, blend all ingredients for the mousse. It should make a thick, mousse texture
  4. Refrigerate for 1 hour
  5. Serve cooled with your favorite toppings
